This can be supported by the recent change of product ingredient in their products (removal of formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane). This was due to a claim that the ingredients were known carcinogens.Johnson and Johnson Inc. in targeting their market, ensures that feedback is taken seriously hence the constant reviews and tests of their products before release. According to consumerdaily.com, Johnson and Johnson’s line of No More Tears® baby shampoos are purchased due to their quality and because of the brand name. The analysis carried out by consumerdaily.com, showed that brand loyalty was the key reason No More Tears® Baby Shampoo and consumers purchase other Johnson and Johnson baby cosmetics.The strategy adopted by Johnson and Johnson is the use of famous cartoon characters that appeal to the children such as The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas etc. These cartoons are aimed at increasing the demand for the products as the characters appeal to both boys and girls. Based on this, children are more likely to demand the use of Johnson and Johnson’s products, as they will identify with the cartoon characters on the products. Although no cartoon characters are used in No More Tears® Shampoo, Johnson and Johnson have promoted the use of the product through commercials targeting mother that have a hard time bathing their children due to eye irritation. The marketing strategy applied by Johnson and Johnson Inc. has proven to be successful based on their interviews with their consumers. According to johnsonsbaby.com, 20 out of the interviewed 20 adults agreed that the No More Tears® Shampoo for children is the best product due to the lack or irritation. Majority of the mothers interviewed regards to No More Tears® Shampoo and Conditioner as the best products for a young baby.
