In every communication session, I tend to ask many questions, often to the disgust of the other parties to the conversation. It is through the questions that I am able to correctly understand the message being put across. I do not also shy away from contributing to whatever topic of discussion since it is a way of perfecting my interpersonal skills and also, I find great satisfaction in sharing any little knowledge I got. My honest nature does not seem to augur well with most of my colleagues hence it is often treated as a weakness. However, I have been able to save time that I would otherwise waste on useless conversations because before I engage in any interaction, I insist on knowing the objectives of the same. If they are not good enough or just unattainable, I would rather not take part in the conversation, however interesting the topic may seem. In general, I do not think people agree with me about my perception of my skills because virtually everyone appreciates mere talk and not focused as I am.By the time the semester will be ending, I hope to have achieved three goals among them; implement a self-evaluation tool concerning interpersonal communication, improved interpersonal communication though the use of non-verbal communication, and learn to appreciate multicultural differences concerning intercultural communication.
