IUB community to become prepared for any disastrous eventuality, a vulnerability analysis has to be made to determine where the IUB community is vulnerable to emergencies. This analysis could be used as an input in developing a a mitigation strategies that will alleviate the effect of such disasters.Inclement weather – storms, hurricane and tornado are highly probable given their increased frequency and intensity every year. They do not only disrupt regularity in the school activity but could damage both life and properties.Fires - IUB campus has laboratories and dormitories which could become a potential source of accidental disasters such as fire. While most of the structure of IUB are made of concrete, there are still combustiblematerials in the campus such as chemicals, papers, clothes and woods in the structure of the buildings.Gas and chemical leaks – the laboratories of IUB campus can be a potential source of chemical leaks which could be poisonous if no remedial measure is in place. Gas leaks can also be disastrous when the students and school personnels are exposed in a prolonged period.Terrorism – terror knows no place nor discernment when it is sown it is being carried out by extremist elements. The range of possible damage that a terror attack can inflict can range from bombing, disseminating poisonous gas, hostage taking to active shooting.Armed individual and/or active shooter – as what we have learned from the experience of other schools, active shooting is very probable. It does not have a pattern and happens randomly as what happened in Columbine School massacre where scores of students were shot by an armed student (Toppo 2009).Inclement weather – the inclemency of the weather varies in intensity. They can be moderate and sometimes intense. Whatever the intensity of an inclement weather, IUB community must prepare itself by the following plan of action; If you need to call for help, call the Indiana Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) because they are forward response team for the during times of disaster and large scale emergencies 2011)Fires – Fires kills more Americans each year than all natural disasters combined and is the most common disaster in Indiana(American Red Cross Greater Indianapolis, 2011).
