Each of these treatment strategies aim at killing all cells in a tumour but mostly they fail to effectively destroy all the cells causing the growth of the cancer cell. There has been various researches aimed at uncovering newer and more effective methods of eradicating the cancer cells from the body.The research on stem cells has shed some light on the causes of cancer. Scientists have discovered that the presence of the SP2 protein in excess amounts in the body could turn stem cells into cancer cells (North Carolina State University, 2010). The SP2 protein, according to the researchers is an important cell cycle regulator for creating neurons from stem cells but in excess amounts results in tumours. Cancers are also caused by genetic events such as genetic alterations during the lifetime of an individual that result in the formation of cancer cells in their somatic tissues. This is as a result by the acquiring of a germ line mutant allele from a parent with a cancer which result in a tumour. Another cause of cancers is the gene-environment interaction, which entails exposure to environmental agents such as cigarette smoke, chemical carcinogens, x-rays, ultraviolet radiation, as well as lifestyle factors that cause tumours by escalating the frequency of mutations in somatic cells (Jorde, 2003). Oncogenic viruses also cause Cancers. In previous researches, several oncogenic viruses have been identified and isolated for both cancers in human beings and in animals. These viruses are pathogenic agents since they are responsible for particular types of cancerous or benign tumour in susceptible people.The main aims of this research is study and comprehend the cell biological processes with reference to previous literature on similar researches in a bid to produce improved treatment and prevention strategies for cancer patients.The research is going to entail the involvement of cancer patients and care givers to obtain data on the subject. After data vollection, it is going to be sampled using stratified random sampling.
