Bernard Montgomery Vs. Erwin Rommel. Montgomery possessed a tough, difficult and complicated character, nonetheless which demonstrated to be a foundation of both power and grave weakness at an important level authority. Certainly, at more than a few times it almost ruined his profession. Monty at all times showed firmness, strength of mind and an intense self-assurance and confidence in him, with a managerial aptitude to stimulate self-esteem that distinguished him out from his colleagues. In fact, he constantly alleged that he can perhaps achieve everything given appropriate liberty and time to form a strategy. Somewhat, Monty was an egotistical, conceited and bigoted man who might in no way confess he was incorrect and hardly ever moved backward in a disagreement when he supposed he was correct.

He had a talent for initiating envy, lacked skills to socialize. The important personality faults made him a tough coworker and assistant and made him a lot of opponents throughout his career. “As lieutenant- General Bedell Smith, Eisenhower’s chief of staff, once told Montgomery: “you may be great to serve under, difficult to serve along, but you sure are hell to serve over.” (Tim Moreman). Similarly, Erwin Rommel Colleagues who experienced working with him under hardship generally had extremely few caring words to speak regarding him and his aptitude. According to Brian Bort “ Following Paul’s' return from his inspection of Rommel's doings in North Africa and also considering the reports submitted by Alfred Gauze, Halder concluded: "Rommel's character defects make him very hard to get along with but no one cares to come out in open opposition because of his brutality and the backing he has at top level." Other people talked about his management approach, which anticipated much of his commandant, whereas not being exposed to disapproval or opposition. He had a small amount of tolerance for commanders working under him who failed to do their work appropriately. Erwin Rommel was chosen as leader of Hitler’s center of operations bodyguard in 1939.
