From the table above it can be observed that the mean for the birth weight, gestation, mother’s age, mother’s height and weight and whether mother smoked are; 3.62, 57.05 and 0.From the table above it can be observed that the median for the birth weight, gestation, mother’s age, mother’s height and weight and whether mother smoked are; 3.14 and 0 respectively. From the table above it can be observed that the mode for the birth weight, gestation, mother’s age, mother’s height and weight and whether mother smoked are; 3.21, 284, 18, 1.57, 50 and 0 respectively. From the above tables 1, 2, 3, and 4 at the appendix it can be seen that there is a slight relationship between the mother’s height and the weight of the baby at birth. From the scatter diagram, the dots form an upward trend, meaning they is a slight relationship between the two variables under study. There is a slight relationship between birth weight and mother’s height as per the scatter diagram because the dots are more concentrated at the center of the table and do not form a clear upward trend. The regression table 4 at the appendix, it is clear that there is a significant relationship between birth weight and mother’s height because the value of the T-test is 1.885 and a significant level of 0.066 which is positive. This reveals the slight relationship between the two variables under study. Furthermore, it can be observed that of the other variables, it is only gestation period that has a strong positive relationship between birth weight and mother’s height. The overall result is that there is no significant relationship between birth weight and the other variables. The result of the analysis above proves that there is slight relationship between mother’s height and baby’s birth weight. It is incorrect to say that mothers who smoke give birth to light children. The study proves that there is a slight relationship between mothers who smoke and birth weight of a baby. The study analysis could have been improved if more tools of analysis could have been used. These include; correlation, graphs and pie charts. Correlation results just like regression give more advanced relationship between two or more variables under study. Therefore, it could have been more accurate if I used those tools to do the analysis while utilizing
