Working towards the rehabilitation of criminals, which I believe is possible through the provision of proper opportunities, the necessary guidance and appropriate learning. I am particularly inclined towards the counseling of inmates in mental hospitals who have pleaded guilty to crimes by reason of insanity. I also find myself often weighing the benefits and risks involved in working as a psychologist within the prison system. I feel that I can make a tangible difference in the lives of the inmates, particularly in the present scenario, in which the criminal-psychologist ratio is a dismal 15:1.I believe that a passion for one’s chosen field of study, coupled with a rock-solid academic qualification, is a mandatory prerequisite to the success of any envisioned career goal. I plan to equip myself with an M. in Forensic Psychology and follow that up with a Doctorate in Psychology, hopefully after I have gained acceptance into the Psychology Department program of the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I am convinced that my dream of a future career as a professional psychologist will be well on the way to becoming reality once I have joined the Forensic Psychology program. I believe this program will provide me the best available opportunity to do an in-depth study of my field of specialization and gain valuable exposure to the practical application of my classroom knowledge. This Masters in Forensic Psychology will undisputedly bring my career goal within reach.The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is absolutely my NUMBER ONE CHOICE. I am a person who lives life to the fullest. I often find a twenty-four hour day too short for all the activities I try to cram into it, from running and horse riding to music and drawing. My love of animals made me an intern in the Riverbank Zoo and Garden’s Educational Animal Program. My affinity for water has made me a swimming instructor, lifeguard, swimming team coach and a certified underwater naturalist and open water diver. I am an out and out extrovert who has availed of every opportunity which came my way to reach out to people and share their lives. I have derived great satisfaction from my membership of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority, where we work to raise awareness of children’s cancer and raise funds for the St. Jude’s Research Center for children’s cancer.
